What we collect
What arrives when you sign in depends on how you sign in:
- Discord — your Discord ID, username, display name and avatar, from the
identifyscope. We do not request your server list. - Google — the account identifier Google issues for this site, your email address, and your name and profile picture where Google supplies them.
- Email code — your email address, and nothing else.
Once you have an account we also store:
- the profile you fill in — display name, bio, region, time zone, languages, any social handles you add, and per-game profiles with your in-game name, in-game id, rank and roles;
- gameplay data — teams you create or join and the join requests you send, tournament entries and results, clan and scrim activity (including clan coin balances and the record of coins earned and spent), duels, XP, streaks and ratings;
- data generated in Discord servers running the bot, where you take part in competitions there.
Our advertising partners separately collect data in your browser when you visit this website — see Advertising below. That data is held by them, not by us, and never includes your account or your gameplay records.
We never see your Discord or Google password, and email sign-in has no password at all. Clutchat has nothing to buy with money (clan coins are earned only by playing), so we never ask for or receive payment details.
How we use it
- showing you tournaments for the games you play and the teams you entered them with, and showing you your own record;
- running the competitive formats here and inside Discord — brackets, clan fights, duels, scrims and leaderboards;
- keeping the Service safe: preventing cheating, abuse and duplicate entries, and acting on reports made under our community guidelines.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your identity or gameplay records with advertisers or with anyone beyond the processors listed below.
Advertising
This website is supported in part by advertising. We use Google AdSense to fill ad space here.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google My Ad Center. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org. Turning personalised ads off does not remove ads — it makes them less relevant.
- How Google handles data in its advertising products is described in Google’s advertising and privacy notice.
Where consent is legally required — visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — a consent message appears before advertising cookies are used for personalisation, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time from the same message.
We do not run ads inside Discord, and no advertiser receives your identity or match history from us.
Cookies and local storage
Essential storage. The site keeps your sign-in session in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in between visits, along with two small preferences: the motion and effects level you chose in Appearance settings, and whether you dismissed the first-run setup. Signing out clears the session.
Advertising cookies. Google and its ad partners set cookies and read similar identifiers in your browser to serve, cap and measure ads, as described above. These are set by them, in your browser, and are not readable by us. Your browser settings can block or delete them, and the opt-out links above control personalisation.
We do not use analytics trackers.
Where your data lives
Your identity, profile and gameplay data are stored in our own database infrastructure. The website is served by Vercel, and the Service talks to Discord’s API to operate the bot. Advertising is delivered by Google, which processes ad requests from your browser on its own infrastructure.
Visibility to other players
Competition is public by design. Your handle, display name, avatar, per-game ranks, public team membership, tournament entries and results are visible to other players — a team name on a bracket is meant to be seen, and a leaderboard in a Discord server is a public record of results. You can hide your profile page from the account settings, which makes clutchat.com/u/your-handle answer as not found to everybody but you; it does not remove you from a server leaderboard or from a bracket you played in.
Your email address is never shown to other players.
How long we keep it
Gameplay history stays for as long as your account exists — leaderboards and brackets would break without it. Sign-in sessions are refreshed only while you use the site. Advertising cookies expire on the schedule set by the vendor that placed them.
Your choices and rights
- Ads — turn off personalised advertising using the links above, or block third-party cookies in your browser.
- Access and correction — most of what we hold about you is on your profile and in your settings, where you can edit it yourself; ask us if something else is wrong and we will correct it.
- Deletion — see below.
- Objection and complaints — if you are in a region with data-protection rights (such as the EEA, the UK or India), you can object to how we handle your data by contacting us, and complain to your local supervisory authority.
Deleting your data
You can sign out at any time. To have your account data removed, ask through the channels on our contact page — the support Discord is the fastest — and we will delete your stored identity and personal gameplay records, keeping only what completed competitions need for their integrity (for example, an anonymised slot in a finished bracket).
Children
The Service is only for people who meet the minimum age required to use an online service in their country. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger, and we do not knowingly serve personalised advertising to children.
